Have you ever........(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

held a baby and it made you want to have another baby sooo bad. Well, meet Landon. Landon is one of those smoochy. sweet smelling, always sleeping, make you want to have another baby baby. I had the pleasure of doing Landon's birth announcement photos and it WAS a pleasure. He slept the whole time. I photograph a lot of babies under a week old and lately I have had my run of non-cooperative babies. Landon totally made up for them. He didn't even poop on me! Anyway, here are a coouple of my favs, I am going to put more on my website this week in the "recent sessions" gallery. Thanks for stopping by.
Congratulations Baileys!

Crazy little man.......(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

Kenzie spent the afternoon with my mom, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to go let Colson do some boy things. We have been pretty strict about running and roughhousing and stuff around the house with Kenzie being sick, so poor Colson has been dying to go outside and run around. I took him to the ranch so he could climb trees, play in the mud, throw rocks in the creek, and just run around. It is super cold here lately so we ended up staying by the trees to get away from the chilly wind. We started playing power ranger runaway. That is where I am a mean mermaid and Colson is a power ranger and I have to chase him and kiss him. If I kiss him, I have to give him a treat. However, I can't really catch him. I just have to act like I am going to. I really didn't understand the rules and Cole kept making up more as we went along, so I just kind of sat back and watched. That kid has one crazy imagination! Anyhoo....glad I bought my camera with me. He was suprisingly willing to let me snap a few.

notice the new hat above...I got it for Cole hoping the other hat (below) would retire

it didn't!

I love this one above...it reminds me of my oldest brother.
sigh.....those dimples...

I think that is a power ranger move above. I am not sure since
they are really not allowed to watch it.

Hunk a burnin love!!...(Humboldt County Senior Photographer)

Brian is gone again for a long time-6weeks! We are not even 1/3 of the way into it and I already miss him like crazy. This is a picture that I took last year on the ranch. Now, I am not into cowboys and Brian is not even close to one (he is wearing his grandpa's hat), but for some reason I LOVE this picture of him. I dug it out so the kids and I could see him. Miss Kenzie asked for a copy to put in her bed with her! How sweet is that?!
Brian........WE MISS YOU and are thinking about you TONS!!

Great News......(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

Kenzie's platelets are up a smidge so we went to the park to celebrate. She still has a lot of restrictions on what she can and can't do, but I fudged a bit and let her go on the swings. It is a brand new playground and there is the thickest soft pad underneath the whole structure just in case. You would have thought that we told her she could eat candy for dinner for the rest of her life. She was soooooo excited. It was so nice to see that smile on her face. I was an absolute wreck but it was well worth it. Thanks for stoppin' by.

Welcome Daisy!...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

So Santa brought Kenzie a special treat this year- her very own pup Daisy. I am not sure how I feel about Santa right now. I kind of feel like I am raising 3 kids instead of 2! I was hesitant at first but seeing the joy on Miss Kenzie's face is sooooo worth it. They are such good pals already. Do you remember when your babies were born and you were faced with the co sleeping dilema? You would put them in their crib and when they cried would you pick them up and put them in bed with you- or let them "cry it out" so they would learn to sleep through the night? Well, Miss Daisy DOES NOT sleep through the night. She has a cozy bed right by the warm fire place, but she wimpers all night long and so we are faced with the dilema: let her sleep with us, or teach her now to sleep on her own. Brian chose the first option. We wanted her to sleep with Kenzie but we wanted the puppy to be a bit older so Kenzie wouldn't smoch her in the night. So for now, she sleeps right in the middle of us. I am really not a "dog person" so I am not sure how I feel about this. If you have any words of wisdom please let me hear them!

This first one is my new favorite. They fell asleep on the couch watching Fox & The Hound. You HAVE to click on this one to see it bigger.
My iso was 1600 since it was so dark so this is a bit soft, but I love the story it tells.

Happy New Year...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

Happy New Year Everyone! Do you all have big resolutions? I usually do the norm; loose 10 million pounds, exercise more, be more patient, stop cursing etc. This year is definitely different. This little situation with Makenzie has really put things in perspective for me. First of all, I am going to try and live in the moment. I am not going to worry about what my house looks like, or that it is past my kids' bedtime, or that I have 3 clients to proof- I am going to enjoy my kids and all the precious memories they give me. This year I am also going to acknowledge my friends more. I have the greatest friends; they are always there for me, they make me laugh, they support myself and my family, they are honest and loyal, and they are some of the greatest gifts in the world. I am going to let them know how special they are to me and my family. I am going to be there for them whenever they need me just like they have been for me theese last few weeks. This year I am also going to learn how to use my darn raw setting. I have had so much trouble with finding those images on my computer! I am also going to stop buying so many darn clothes. I have no use for half the things I buy. Most of the stuff in my closets still have tags on them. It is one thing to buy stuff for the house or the kids, but I don't NEED any more clothes for me- until spring that is!
Anyway, I hope these resolutions last longer than last years- I am still cursing quite a bit! Let me know if you have any goods ones for yourself this year- I might have to add some more to my list. Kenzie is doing a bit better; her last count was 19,000. Thank you to those emails you all sent.
This group of pictures is from the other day. We went on a walk to the "top of the world" the kids were being so silly with their faces and poses.
