Meet Claire

This is my new Neice that I have been waiting for FOREVER!! I can't wait to spoil her silly. We went to Napa to visit her and so I had the whole ride home with Brian to talk him into having another baby girl.  He softened a bit on the idea but I think it was just to get me to stop talking. I think I am going to have to get him schnockered and take matters into my own hands and then just play dumb when I have a positive preggo test!!

Congrats Todd and Julie. You made me the happiest Auntie in the world!

For Miss Kim

I know you were waiting anxiously for these!

A little dark and moody for you.....

had to make this one a little vintage...it just fit the picture....

Thanks for stopping by.

The Renner Family

You know how sometimes you know what you want but you just can't get it? Well, I knew that I wanted a big canvas to hang above the bed with some bright colors. I set out to get this shot early the other morning. It was one of those days that I should have stayed in bed! First off, Miss Kenzie woke up with a 103.7 degree fever- and was not feeling good at all. Being the great parent that I am, I gave her some Tylenol and made her get dressed anyway and told her to try not and get her drippy nose on her outfit. We left for the location and got half way there and realized that I forgot my camera. Turn around go back grab camera and we are on our way again. We got to location, brrrrrrrrr 35 degrees and I get my tri-pod out to set it up. Can't get my camera screwed into my tri-pod and then I realize that I didn't bring my tri-pod, I brought my backdrop stand! I have no idea how I didn't realize that one. I grab some packing tape from the car and tape my camera precariously to the pole and get to work. My poor family was sooooo patient with me. My mom came to press the shutter button and she did great considering she can't even figure out the remote for the tv :) (luv ya mom)
Anyhoo....got something to work with at least. I love the light coming through the barn in the first one but not sure about the pose. It's so hard to try and set up the shot without being behind the lense! I have a bunch more that I may try to cut and paste but my photoshop skills are a bit limited for that! I am so proud of how patient my family was with me. I am pretty lucky! Which one do you like best?

better late than never..

yes I know that Halloween was long ago. Don't even ask me where Colson's pictures are. I am not even sure if I took any of him! I am sure that my mother of the year award is on it's way :)

Wowzers....

How many girls do you think mom will have to chase away from their door??
I had the pleasure of doing another session with this fun bunch. Mom is my movie buddie- ie: she is the only one who will see all those chick flicks, documentaries, foreign films, and books to movies that my husband would not be caught dead at! And to top it off, she is way funner than going with my husband because she doesn't steal any of my popcorn and she can stay awake at the late shows! I'm sure that we will be the only people at "New Moon" next week who are over 30! Sad to say, but I can't wait!

Thanks Miss H. Your boys were wonderful as always. You are going to love your final batch of proofs!

Sneak for miss Gina

These kiddos were such troopers!! We had to brave freezing wind and rain and I got ZERO complaints from them.

Thanks for being such good sports guys. Your proofs are on their way.
On a different note, those of you waiting to see pictures of my new baby niece, will have to wait until Tuesday :( We were all packed up to go meet her and Colson started running a fever so we postponed our trip. Bri and I are heading that way this weekend and I can't wait to meet her!

The Wonderful "L" family

So I had sooooo much fun on this shoot. We got some FABULOUS pictures to choose from. Isn't this trailer to die for (click on it to make bigger)?!
Nothin like some chucks! We decided than we needed a behind the scenes picture of me taking this picture. I had my bootie high in the air as I laid in the mud trying not to get attacked my frogs (which I am deathly afraid of by the way) and to make it worse, I was in desperate need of a belt if you know what I mean!
a lil vintage texture and conversion below....I am lovin the way they look so happy with me! I think they are about to jump me and minute!

Thanks for the fun time guys! You have way too many proofs on the way to you.

A Sad Day

So I was right in the middle of photographing these cuties and all of a sudden I had total camera system failure!! My shutter was a gonner and everytime I turned on or of the camera, my shutter would fire! Needless to say we had to call it quits. I overnighted my baby to canon but I won't have it back for at least a week. I feel like one of my kids is in the hospital!Of course I have a back up camera but it is not my trusted big camera- and it is so hard to downgrade!! I am thinking that I have to get another big one to shoot with and then use my broken one as back up-once it's fixed of course. Kind of a bummer- especially for all my clients this week- but at least I get to buy something new. Thanks Amber for being such a good sport. Your kids did great and you still have a ton of proofs to choose from :)

Thursday, October 22, 2009

So this is my B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L friend "G" and her hysterical kiddies. I was supposed to take just a few recents of the kids but I talked her in to being in a few too at the last minute. I'm sure glad I did because there are about 120 photographs from this session that I am in looooove with.

Just a quick update of my babies.....

I have been scouting some new locations for all the Christmas shoots coming up. Of course my kids are more than happy to be my guinea pigs- yeah right!! I had to do some major bribes to even get them out of the car.

Can you tell who has been watching Americas Next Top Model?? Miss K has been coming up with quite the poses! This one looks like half her arm is missing!

Mister C would have been in more but Kenzie pushed him out of the tree early on and so he was protesting the rest of the time
thanks for stopping by!

How Twisted is this????

Brian has been gone for so long on fires that Miss Kenzie has been having daddy meltdowns. She misses him so much and says that she would give anything to just get to snuggle him at night time.So I did what any normal mother would do- I made her a fake dad!! It is a big body pillow so she can just take his head off (creepy I know) and sleep with him at night.

I am finding out that there are many wonderful things about having a fake husband........

he doesn't ever talk back

he is always in a great mood
he never makes any messes

he never cares about all the packages that the ups man drops off

he watches all my girl shows with me without complaining

and he doesn't hog the covers!

just a few that I found while cleaning out my files....gotta love Colson's
"hey baby how ya doin" look!

Bear With Me

I just wanted to post a few snapshots from our labor day weekend for my family.Miss Makenzie loves to tell people how she can do really big jumps on the wakeboard. What she doesn't tell people is that she has a little help!
My cousin "j' is a fantastic wakeboarder who can even pose in mid air!!

and jump over things
he also took the kids tubing where we dumped Makenzie....
"j" makes back flips look so easy

we have 2 old tubs at our cabin that over look the lake and I can't help but think of that erectile dysfunction commercial everytime my kids bathe in them...
Lots of client images to post in the next few days.....

New Product!!

Well not technically *new*......I have been offering these custom personalized lunchboxes to my clients for about a year after a few requests from some parents and the response has been great! I decided to expand and go ahead and sell them online as well. Keep in mind that product photography is not my forte' but you get the idea. They are full size metal lunchboxes with the traditional clasp and have the design on both sides. I have really enjoyed personalizing them to match the child's personality. I have done airplanes, ladybugs, dinosaurs, you name it! I surprisingly have had a ton of custom orders for adults as well! They are $35 each and can either include an initial, a full name, or a nickname. I am working on a separate site strictly for the lunchboxes that I will link to from here, but for now you can use the "buy it now" link on the top right hand side of my blog. In the comments section, please include the lunch box design name and the name that you want added on the lunch box. You can also send a direct paypal payment to me at mirandarenner@frontiernet.net. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to make a custom order. Keep in mind that back to school is right around the corner!!

Sneak Peek for miss Annie

Trip Day 1

So we started off of trip driving up the coast towards Oregon. Our plan was to hit every fun thing we could do on the road.On day 1. we stopped at Trees of Mystery http://www.treesofmystery.net/

we rode the tram to the top and checked out the views and hiked all around. Next, we stopped at ocean world http://www.oceanworldonline.com/new/

we got to see and do so many fun things including...

sorry about the picture quality....damn point ans shoot camera!!

learning how to surf

hitting on chicks

"ummmm can I get your number??"

being eaten alive

Trip day 2

So day two incuded the oregon caves http://www.nps.gov/orca/ which was super neat. The above picture looks like jelly fish but is really part of the cave wall!! We swam a ton since it was so hot

then we did a jet boat ride to Hell Gate http://www.hellgate.com/ . OMG this ride was sooooo fun. We did the dinner trip. It was about 4.5 hours we got soaked so I reallt couldn't have the camera out. Our driver was doing 360's right and left. Here is the Hell Gate...the picture doesn't do it justice...it is really beautiful

before heading back up the river, you stop the boat at this resturaunt the ok corral and have the most AMAZING ranch dinner; chicken, ribs, cornbread, cobbler, salad, apps, and all the beer and wine you could drink. Let's just say it was a hot day and I wasn't drivin the boat!

Trip day 3

first we started out at the animal safari in Winston http://www.wildlifesafari.org/. This was awesome. You drive your car into a 600 acre animal park. It took us probably 2 hours to drive through the whole thing. We saw every animal under the sun just walking around by the car!

had to crop this one cuz he was a boy giraffe and you could tell!

so gross...

then we went to medford and played mini golf and rode go carts

I would like to say for the record that I won the game!!

Trip last day...

So the last day was the funnest. We went to a treesort to go ziplining! http://www.treehouses.com/treehouse/treesort/giantzipline.htm

it is a lil place where you can rent treehouse motel rooms to stay in overnight complete with indoor plumbing and all! I believe that you can even zipline into your tree room! It was so much fun. All four of us went and zip lined. We did probably about 5 run, each one getting higher! When you zipped from tree to tree, you landed way up in a tree and had to stand on a tiny branch while they hooked you onto another line. It was a bit hairy but we all loved it. Here is colson....the lil red dot ziping from tree to tree

there was no actual proof that I was there since I had the camera but I did get a major injury! I got hit by a leaf while zipping through the forest out into a clearing! almost had to call 911!

the trip was sooooooo much fun. We are planning another one twards mt lassen to do some hiking and I think I am going to have to find another zip lining place too!

The Fabulous "F" family!!

I am finally getting around to archiving some of my shoots from Christmas!! I know- what a slacker!! It's fun to go through them now that I am not so crazy busy and I hope to get a ton posted before they go off site.

This was my wonderfully cute friend Tina and her family. They are the kind of family you could just eat with a spoon! I didn't know them before our first photo shoot almost 3 years ago and now another baby and many shoots later, and they have become great friends. Miss Tina is a fabulous mom, with fabulous recipes, wonderful values, and great taste. I feel pretty blessed that my job allows me to meet new people that I probably would have never met otherwise. Thanks for all the fun times "F' family!
could their kiddies be any cuter??!

Do You hear the Angels Singing???

When I opened up the anthropology catalog mailer this time, I heard them. I saw probably 10 pairs of shoes that I just had to have and don't even get me started on the clothes!! Well Brian is out of town for the week and so I told him that I would take care of mother's day presents for everyone including me. Bad decision on his part!! My favorite ups man dropped these off today and it is going to kill me to wait to mother's day to wear them. I had to put miss kenzie in as my model. Happy Mother's Day to me!! Now I've got my anniversary and my birthday coming up this month as well......hint hint babe!

Mirror Mirror On the Wall

Who is the sassiest girl of all!!?
We all know who it is!!! I finally purchased Brendas Textures and have been playing around with them. They are so much fun to work with! If you blow up the images (just click on the picture) you can see all the detail in them. As you can tell by the batch of pictures, the kids were in quite a mood but we had fun none the less.
FYI....don't know if any photogs read this but I will add a link on the side if you want to go to Brenda's site and buy the textures too....wonderful and cheap!

the textures on black and white pictures....
