eeewwee...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

So being that I am NOT a dog person, it grosses me out when my babies let the dog lick their mouths over and over again. I tell the kids how dirty that is and that Daisy licks her own bottom to clean it but they just don't care. Now they sit on my lap and call the dog so she does it right in front of me and they just laugh and laugh. It gives me the heebie jeebies! Don't get me wrong, I like the dog but I don't even think that I would let my husband give me that much tounge! I am going to update my website with some recents later today so be sure and check it out. Thanks for stopping by.

Are you ready for some drama???...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

It seems that my life is so full of drama lately. I am longing for a really, really, I mean really boring life. Brian was finally due to come home last Friday, so we got all packed to go to his graduation and bring him home with us. A couple days before we left, Miss Kenzie came down with a fever. Well I called the doctor who said that this virus was going around but it was pretty fast and she should be feeling better real quick. So I decided that nothing was going to stop me from seeing my hubby and bringing him home so we left on the trip anyway. I should have known that something was wrong right off the bat because both of my kids slept the whole way down there which was amazing. Once we got there and checked into the hotel, my mil (who is a nurse) said Makenzie felt really warm. Yep, still running a good fever. She put her in a cool bath and let her rest. At the graduation, Kenzie was complaining that her legs didn't work and she was too tired to sit or move. We dicided to start for home since she seemed to be going downhill pretty fast. We stopped to get gas on the way home and ran through the car wash, while we were there, Makenzie sarted coughing up blood. I freaked out and tried to call her doctor well, apparently you don't get any reception inside of a carwash bay! It took us forever to get out of there and by the time I got ahold of her doctor, we were in bumper to bumper traffic in Sacremento which we are not familar with. I was yelling and screaming at the hubby while Makenzie was crying in the back saying she was dying and Colson was just jabbering non stop. That night she got so delerious she was saying that the moon was falling on her and we were all tipping off the earth. I had never been so scared in my life. We left for the hospital which was 2 hours away with no cell service. Makenzie was still crying about how uncomfortable she was, and then Colson started screaming in the back seat. He was hot, then he was cold, then he started puking in the backseat. We needed to stop to give him some air, but we needed to get Kenzie to the doctor too. It was one of those moments that everything was so wrong that you just start laughing hysterically. After the longest car ride in history, we pull into the hospital and we all suspect that Kenzie's platelets are really low which would explain the nosebleed and the coughing up blood. We are completely prepared for the worst. They also want to do a chest xray since her lungs sound icky. She has a hard time with her blood draw because her veins are getting kind of shot from all the draws but she was very brave. While we were going in for the xray, the lab man tells us her platelets are 177,000. WHAT????? Just a week ago they were down to 50,000 and now she is bleeding and sick. We insist that there must be an error with the results. So he runs the test again and get s the same result! Can you believe it? The doctor says not to get too excited because it is not over, but this is the number of a "normal" person which is amazing. I am thinking of all the fun things we need to hurry and go do before her count falls again; ride a bike, jump on the trampoline, play on the monkey bars, etc. Well, all that stuff is going to have to wait because the radioligist says that she has pneumonia! The luck of this poor girl! Now Colson's temp is 103.5 and so we have his ears looked at and he has a double ear infection. Brian tries to go to work and comes home an hour later with the flu, Makenzie starts sceaming that her ear hurts so we go back to have her ears looked at, and she has an ear infection too. We are in bad shape! However, I am great. My husband is home, my daughter has normal platelets, and Colson's fever is so high that all he can do is lay around and snuggle with me. I am really enjoying all the time at home together. Here are a few pictures from the trip. Nothing but good news from now on......I am so sick of drama!

Brian and Zippy. Zippy graduated 1st in the class- cute and smart!!
Makenzie got to present Bri with his badge during the ceremony.

Grandma Kym made Cole a matching uniform for the graduation.

The only picture where Kenzie doesn't look like she is dying!

Low and behold.........(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

It was just the last post how I was saying how great Makenzie was doing, her platelets were climbing up and up. And how I was glad because I didn't think that I would deal well with a drop.......well, on Friday we went to the hospital and sure enough, she had a big drop. She is down in the 50's now. I am feeling particularly bad for her this time because we were so sure that we were going to see an increase that Kenzie and I were planning all the fun stuff we were going to do that she can't do with low numbers. Please keep thinking of her and sending her good vibes and if you know of any fun, calm games or activities please email them to me. We are running out of ideas!
I was also tagged by Tina which means that I have to list 5 things that make me happy. I would love to focus on happy things today, so I will be back tonight to list those as well. Thanks for stopping by. Sorry about the old picture.......I had nothing new to show today!

A little catch -up...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

I have gotten a lot of emails asking about Miss Kenzie. I guess I have not been really posting about her lately. She is doing well. Her platelets keep climbing and climbing every test we get. She is already up to 86,000! I really try not to get my hopes up too much because I don't want to be devastated if we get a drop. She is feeling wonderful as always. She seemed to have aged a bit with this whole situation which makes me a little sad, but it could just be me not wanting to see my baby girl grow up. I am so appreciative of all the thoughts you are sending my way. I hope to post some amazing news about Makenzie very soon. Everyone give your babies an extra hug for me tonight!
Daddy...........WE MISS YOU!!!!
