So not only do we have new school, we have new soccer too. This is more my passion than Kenzie's. I never thought that she wouldn't want to play soccer but when she was placed on a team without any of her friends, she started to talk about no wanting to play. We came to an agreement that she would try one game before we would make any descisions. It made me so proud of her seeing her walk up to a team of kids she didn't really know and introduce herself. It made me think about how kids are so brave and non- judgemental at this age. I know how uncomfortable I would be if I had to enter a room of strangers and make instant friends with them. Well, as it turns out, we had nothing to worry about. During the first game, she scored a goal and when she heard the crowd cheering for her, she was hooked. Of course I was so busy screaming on the sidelines (I said I was never going to be one of those moms) that I forgot to snap any pictures.
Here she is before the game. I gave her a pep talk on putting her "game face on" and this is what she came up with.
