And the boy starts too.....

So Colson started his new pre-school class too. It is the same school that he has been going to but he moved up to the bigger class. He seems bigger to me now that Kenzie is gone at school. I took him with me on my errand run wich I usually don't do and it was sooo much fun. He is calming down so much and turning into a really nice kid. I have been truly blessed with some amazing kids. My babies are growing up so fast. Pretty soon I am going to be posting pictures of thier weddings!!

So not only do we have new school, we have new soccer too. This is more my passion than Kenzie's. I never thought that she wouldn't want to play soccer but when she was placed on a team without any of her friends, she started to talk about no wanting to play. We came to an agreement that she would try one game before we would make any descisions. It made me so proud of her seeing her walk up to a team of kids she didn't really know and introduce herself. It made me think about how kids are so brave and non- judgemental at this age. I know how uncomfortable I would be if I had to enter a room of strangers and make instant friends with them. Well, as it turns out, we had nothing to worry about. During the first game, she scored a goal and when she heard the crowd cheering for her, she was hooked. Of course I was so busy screaming on the sidelines (I said I was never going to be one of those moms) that I forgot to snap any pictures.
Here she is before the game. I gave her a pep talk on putting her "game face on" and this is what she came up with.

So, today was the dreaded day (for me anyway)- the first day of Kindergarten. Kenzie bug was soooo excited and I kept telling myself that I should be too. Think about it....free "day care" five days a week! That is wonderful.....I can spend some much-needed one on one time with my son, I can maybe have some free time to finally finish some orders, I can start running again, I can take out my scrapping stuff back out, there is so much I can do.Well, in real life, I left my baby at school and completely fell apart. I left with the biggest empty feeling wrapped around my heart. I feel as if I have given her over to someone else to parent for me for over half the day- five days a week. I wonder how many times it is going to take me dropping her off to stop feeling that empty feeling anymore. Please tell me is will be soon.

Hopefully I will be back soon with some more upbeat news.

here are some pictures from our first day. The note was in her lunchbox and is something that I tell her every single night as I tuck her into bed.

laughter...(Humboldt County Childrens Photographer)

Nothing makes my heart dance as much as when I see my two babies laughing together. Sometimes it's like they have their own secret language that no one else understands. Granted there are times that I find myself scolding "Colson..... don't chase your sister with the stapler", or Kenzie, untie your brother right now young lady". But there is no sweeter sound than hearing their laughter drift into another room. IN REAL LIFE, that sound means more to me that anything. It assures me that at the end of the day, I did something right- I have successfully completed another day of this crazy job called mommyhood.
